86 days, 1 hour and 36 minutes till Christmas

Do I hear a collective moan? Mutterings of “where has the year gone? Wasn’t it like Christmas yesterday?”  Personally, I can’t wait for Christmas to arrive. The festive season has taken on a whole new meaning since I’ve had Isaac. This year will be his second Christmas and no, he doesn’t get it and no, he won’t remember it, but I’m determined to begin traditions and create memories.  My first step last year was to buy a Christmas tree…a very nice Christmas tree.  I searched online and it came down to one tree…and one tree only. No other tree would fulfil me.  I had tree lust.

My Christmas Store’ supplied it…and its name….The new Hampshire pine-blue.

This is a photo of the tree in store. A blue hue with frosted tips. Stunning.  Unfortunately, our tree wasn’t so elegantly decorated last year. You see, I spent all my spare cash on the tree that I couldn’t afford the decorations worthy of it.  So we put up what we had.  Maybe I’ll dig out a photo…and then again maybe I won’t.

This year I am back!  I’ve saved my pennies and with a little help from a voucher generously given to all their facebook fans, I was ready to stock up.   Isaac’s favourite Aunty Kirsty came with us. See her futile efforts to duck out of the photo.

Ok, so today I am stocking up on silver decorations.  My plan is to one day coordinate silver with another single colour on the tree.   I bought me some of these birdies. Come in a box of twelve and clip onto the branches. Also as ‘Isaac’s favourite aunty Kirsty’ pointed out, they aren’t made from glass so they may survive rugrats toddler years.

And some of  these  upside down tear drops. I’m sure they have a proper name.

And some silver hanging Christmas presents. Which I some how forgot to photograph.

And just for lusting purposes here are some more photos….mmm

And yes I am ignoring the fact that in just a few short years my son will be returning home from school with his “lovingly crafted”  painted Styrofoam balls, paper chains and toilet roll angels to place on my tree.
